Cheryl R. (Mossburg) McFarland. 65 of Kirklin was called home surrounded by her loving family on September 25, 2021. She was born on August 12, 1956, to her late father Richard Mossburg and her mother Denzel Ileene (Lindenmayer) Harmon who survives Cheryl. She was a graduate of Clinton Central High School, class of 1974. After graduating high school, she went to work for Federal Mogul, and she would set up presses. The factory has a list of how many years each employee worked before retiring; her goal was to break into the top ten, after giving the company 41 years of service she finished holding the number three spot. Cheryl was a member of UAW Local 1949 in Frankfort, she spent many years serving in the Union, she worked her way through the chairs and finally ending her tenure as president of Local 1949. Cheryl was very interested in Native Americans and would collect Native American art and statues. She was a member of Kirklin’s Eastern Star and Kirklin Christian Church.
Not only did Cheryl pass on the value of hard work but she passed on her love for Jesus. Her children have always remembered her saying “If you want something you have to work for it” this taught them the value and to appreciate what they have and how hard they had to work to get it.
Cheryl is going to be greatly missed by her loving family her son, and daughter Jennifer (Christopher) Hill. She was a loving grandmother to Hunter and Travis McFarland, Destiny Crider, Devin Hooker and Alexis Bailey. She was a proud great grandmother to Taylor, Sage, Julian, Presley, and Kendall.
